Life after education can be full of tough decisions around what to do next. A lot of people don’t know what their next steps will be. A few people know exactly what they want to do, but perhaps they don’t have the relevant experience to get into that industry. At Summit we understand that it can be a challenging time, so we offer an apprenticeship scheme to allow people to get that valuable experience in the Performance Marketing sector. 1. Gain valuable work experience
Our apprentices are supporting with work for some of the biggest brands in the UK within their first couple of months. By completing an apprenticeship, you get access to experiences and responsibilities that will create a great foundation for your digital marketing career. We’ll help you develop skills such as client management, presenting, report writing, data analysis, problem solving and so much more. All of the experiences you gain are intended to support your progression into more senior roles in the future.
2. Learn on the job
During your apprenticeship, 20% of your time at work is allocated to learning new skills and completing your course. This means that you don’t have to complete your qualification outside of working hours – you can complete your coursework during the week. This 20% also includes time accessing any internal training offered to staff, shadowing specialisms across the business, and supporting on projects outside of your immediate team.
3. Try different specialisms
Understanding digital marketing can be a bit of a minefield and totally overwhelming if you’re new to the industry. Luckily for our apprentices, they get access to teams across a huge variety of specialisms in everything from SEO to Data Science, Paid Search to Affiliate Marketing. We want to help our apprentices find the area of digital marketing they’re passionate about and give them experience in those areas they find most interesting.
4. Enjoy the company benefits
On passing probation, all our apprentices get access to our fantastic company benefits, including £250 each year towards an ‘experience for life’, like learning to ski or being a zookeeper for a day. We also offer flexible working arrangements, your birthday off (in addition to 25 days annual leave) and access to additional healthcare benefits in the form of our Bupa Cashplan.
5. Earn while you learn
Instead of paying thousands of pounds to complete a degree course, you will be paid a salary to learn the ins and outs of the digital marketing industry and develop skills you can’t learn in a classroom.
6. Receive support from the company
We invest a lot of time into our apprentices and want to see them succeed during their career at Summit. Every new starter at Summit is given a ‘buddy’ they can catch up with for support and advice. You will also work as part of a specific team from day one. Teamwork is one of our core values at Summit, and we make sure that our apprentices feel the support from the people in their immediate team and across the business.
