Awin and Summit host Wickes’ first Affiliate Day of 2026
Within the always evolving Affiliate channel, it is easy to get distracted by all the new shiny tools the channel has to offer; however, the foundation of the channel will always remain in building relationships and sharing knowledge.
This month the Affiliate team worked hard to put together and hold Wickes’ first Affiliate Day of 2026 at Awin’s head offices. Sapphire Clay, Marketing Executive here at Summit, was a key part of the process:
“I was lucky enough to get to plan and be a part of the Affiliate day in only my first year working in the channel. It was great to see the day turn out so well with some amazing feedback from the client. I particularly enjoyed learning about all of the new reporting tools that are in development which will really help streamline and enhance the work we produce.”
The day gave us the opportunity to spend time with some of our top partners who all presented some exciting opportunities and provided great insights that we could start to build into our Affiliate activity.
Since then, we have compiled some key takeaways from the day to explain the importance of enabling these collaborative sessions.
Learning and Growing:
Keeping up with new developments and ideas in the Affiliate space can sometimes be overwhelming with the fast-paced nature of the channel; hosting events like Affiliate days allow you to set a full day aside to get in the zone and refresh the knowledge of both you and your clients. Having some of your key partners, the Affiliate network, and the client all in one room provides a great opportunity for open discussions, brainstorming and clear alignment.
Ideation and Brainstorming:
With this new knowledge, comes the opportunity to sit down and develop fresh ideas and approaches for the client, which is especially important for a mature Affiliate program like that of Wickes.
Whether it’s using newly created tools to report on performance, aligning on concepts like incrementality, or planning tests ahead of key periods in the year, there is a strong advantage to gathering key stakeholders in one place with a clear focus, with real-time conversations and problem-solving aiding discussions often prolonged in email chains.
Networking and Partnership:
Arguably, one of the most important benefits of an Affiliate day is the chance you get to network and spend time with people you would not normally get the opportunity to spend time with on a day-to-day basis. Being in the same space allows excitement to catch on and ideas to bounce from person to person in a way words on a screen don’t allow, we are able to move from being simply an email in their inbox to tick off, to a valuable colleague.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Awin for hosting and providing such a great location.
We would also like to say another thank you to all the partners who came along and presented on the day:
