Following over 25 years of senior retail management, former Carpetright director Ian Woosey has joined Summit as Director of Retail Consulting. Ian will join our London office and head up a new retail consulting division at Summit.
Ian has worked with Summit on number of ecommerce projects in his time at Carpetright and recalls his first impressions of working with us: “When I first engaged Summit, it was obvious that they were truly different. I have had a mixed experience with digital agencies really but Summit provided intellectual and commercial input that was invaluable in building a new online business channel. The best agencies have a true commercial understanding and Summit’s thought leadership continued and developed into a genuine partnership once the projects were complete. We then continued to work with Summit on online marketing and 9 months after going live we were awarded “Retail Website of the Year” at the 2010 Retail Systems Awards. It was a phenomenal achievement.”
Working closely with Ian and his team at Carpetright for over 3 years achieved more than awards and accolades. In fact, the “genuine partnership” which built between Ian and Summit served as one of the main motivations for the move to Summit. Ian continues: “The opportunity to work with Summit in a senior leadership role was simply too good to miss. They are bright, hard-working and truly passionate about they work they do for clients. As a CIO, I got to know a lot of people really well but since joining I have met a whole lot more and the strength in depth is impressive. With over a decade of experience, retail is Summit’s specialism. Bringing his vast experience within sector to the company, Ian’s first job will be to set up a new retail consulting department and it’s an exciting move for both Ian and Summit.
