Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months, you will undoubtedly be aware that there are some major changes happening to Google Shopping which will launch on 13 February. Here at Summit we have been building up to, and preparing for, this date which we have nicknamed “G-Day”.
Paid Product Listing Ads (PLAs) will start to replace the previously free Google Shopping Listings in a transition period. This period will terminate at the end of Q2 when all free Google Shopping Listings will finally be removed, leaving just PLAs.
To carry on competing for share of voice in Google Shopping, you will need to set up PLAs in AdWords before G-Day, as your free product listings will no longer show up on the main Google Search page and will be outranked by PLAs on the Google Shopping page.
