Summit was proud to receive a commendation last week at the prestigious Drum DADI Awards. We were shortlisted for our work with Rockar in the Best Automotive Website, App or Campaign category.


Summit and Rockar

Rockar’s vision was to revolutionise the automotive industry by becoming the world’s first ever online automotive retailer. Summit was engaged to help validate Rockar’s idea, shape their strategy and ultimately build a technical solution. We carried out a comprehensive customer research project, during which we critically analysed the accepted practices of car sales: showrooms, dealers and test driving. We designed a customer journey that enabled customers to buy a new car online on any device, completing the transaction from start to finish in less than ten minutes.

The concept has proved a huge success, with more than double the sales of an average dealership. Rockar has gained access to customers who would not traditionally purchase a new car, including a high proportion of female customers and people who would typically be expected to purchase a used vehicle. The project has been nominated for several awards over recent months, including Best Automotive Website at the highly anticipated Masters of Marketing Awards.

Drum DADI Awards 2015

The winners were announced on Thursday evening in front of 600 of the UK’s digital industry leaders. Our competitors in the automotive category included Citroën, Mercedes Benz and Honda, to name a few. Although we didn’t take home the trophy, losing out to Somo and their extremely impressive Audi experience at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, we are delighted to have received a commendation against such formidable competition.
