We are looking for a Head of SEO to join Summit’s rapidly growing SEO team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in natural search, living and breathing the changing world of search and an established, seasoned thought leader in the area.

Responsibilities will include:

  • SEO Proposition development including:
    • Development of the proposition in response to industry and client changes
    • Integrating SEO with other core channels such as PPC and Social Media
  • Developing the SEO strategy of Summit’s current and new client portfolio
  • Supporting with business development (including attending and presenting to prospects as required)
  • Training internally and externally as required
  • Managing, developing and growing the SEO team
  • Identifying best in class SEO tools and technologies for the team to use on an ongoing basis
  • Providing innovative ideas to feed into our technology roadmap
  • Strong project management and inter-departmental coordination skills
  • Speaking at thought leadership events on the area of SEO

 

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level or above, have at least 5 years SEO and team leader experience. They will possess the following skills and experience:

  • A strong knowledge and understanding of HTML, XHTML, CSS, W3C, DDA, JavaScript, RSS, XML, ASP, PHP, IIS, Apache, DNS, log files,
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics and Google / Bing Webmaster tools

 

Ideally, the candidate will have experience in delivering successful on page and off page campaigns for large complex retail clients. Evidence of successes with SEO clients will be required along with CV and covering letter of application.

The candidate could be based at either our Yorkshire HQ or London office, but it is expected that their time will be divided between both locations during the working week. Further travel should be expected due to the locations of Summit’s clients.

Salary – up to £50k
