Position: Client Executive
Job Description: When I first joined Summit, I worked exclusively for Viking Direct, helping to revamp their paid search listings. This involved improving the visibility of their ads, cost management and a lot of working in Excel.
I've recently moved onto the Which? account, performing a similar function although it’s around their technology offering and covers laptops, TVs, DVDs, cameras etc. And I'm still doing a lot of working in Excel!
Time at Summit: 5 months.
Interests: Karate, learning Japanese, anime, cheerleading and playing the piano (in private only!).
What were you doing before joining Summit?
This is my first job since leaving Hull University. I studied English Literature and History, achieving a 2.1.
Why did you decide to join Summit?
I liked the ethos and values of the company - and the opportunity to work with some well-known high street brands. I'd decided I wanted to remain in Hull after completing my degree and, after attending a graduate open day, was extremely impressed with Summit.
What are you working on at the moment?
We're engaged in moving 1000s of Viking Direct's into our Portfolio Manager software. It's a long job but, once completed, it will give us significantly more control over Viking's paid search campaigns, allow even more effective targeting of ad copy and deliver greater incremental sales.
How have you developed personally since joining Summit?
I've already gained some professional qualifications in digital marketing - and had a polo lesson! My confidence has also grown, I've got more comfortable speaking with clients and made the changes necessary to adapt to office life after being a student for three years.
Is working at Summit what you first thought it would be like?
I didn't know what to think! I was impressed by how closely we work with our clients; you quickly get a real attachment to them.
