Hedley Aylott is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Summit, part of the award winning Summit group of companies established in 1995.
Graduating in Engineering from Nottingham University, he trained as a professional composer in Manchester before releasing the first-ever record from a British prison in 1995. Hedley went on to establish Summit Arts, a charitable arts organisation specialising in music, drama, film and digital media that created two groundbreaking rock operas and won a BAFTA award. In 2000, Hedley was nominated for a Creative Briton award for his work in developing arts in prisons. In the same year, he co-founded Summit Media to better develop Summit’s creative ideas and strategy through the Internet, and to give retailers a competitive advantage online.
Insider Media listed Hedley as one of Yorkshires top ‘Under 42’ young entrepreneurs - the ones to watch, in 2008.
A keen polo player and founder of the White Rose Polo Club, Hedley is also a qualified pilot and water-ski instructor. He loves sailing and competes in Cowes Week and other sailing regattas.

The never-ending challenge for me is about asking how we can make a client’s business better. This desire drives me personally and I think it’s also attracted the right people to come and work at Summit.
I'm a qualified pilot and regularly fly my Cessna 172 to meetings across the country. I'm also a professional composer and have written and produced a number of successful music projects, including a collaboration with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
I love all manner of outdoor pursuits. Playing polo is a huge passion of mine, but I also enjoy sailing, shooting and flying.
