Charles Talbot - Client Director
Charles has over 10 years of blue chip key account management and marketing experience within the telecoms and new media industries. With a background in search marketing with two of the UK’s leading SEMs, Charles joined Overture UK as one of its first recruits. As senior account manager, he developed relationships and search strategies with the UK’s largest digital advertising agencies.
As head of category management at Yahoo! Search Marketing, Charles was responsible for driving UK revenues across the retail, finance, IT, telecoms, recruitment and travel categories. He then moved to work across Yahoo!’s product suite of direct response and brand solutions through mobile, search and display advertising. As UK category dvelopment director of IT and Telecoms, Charles managed direct relationships with the likes of Dell, Hewlett Packard, 02 and Vodafone in the UK and across Europe.
Charles has a bookshelf filled with US house and disco vinyl from the 80s, as well as the latest and greatest business books. At the weekends, he can usually be found cycling around Richmond Park and trying not to smoke.

What are you currently interested in?
Following my recent wedding - when I was told I needed to lose 1 1/2 stones and 4 inches from my waistline - I've now become an expert at core and lunging exercises!
Who or what inspires you?
Having worked at Overture and then Yahoo! I've met and learned from some amazing business leaders, such as Dan Rosensweig, Sue Decker, Terry Semel and Jerry Yang. The way they capture the moment, simplify complex business environments and establish a way forward is something to behold.
What's your hidden talent?
I've DJ'd in various London bars for over five years. If asked, I can put a mean deep house and disco set together.
What do you get up to away from work?
Switching off is a challenge but I dabble in cycling and golf. I continue to build my burgeoning business library and love to pick up some of the best vinyl for 50p. I've definitely not moved to digital on that front yet.
